Growing food is one of the best ways to help grow communities.
Families become self-sufficient and raise the types of crops and animals that provide them not only with sustenance but with income. Food sold to nearby towns and villages gives our communities the resources to grow and flourish.
GREENHOUSES GROW COMMUNITIES.
There's a severe shortage of suitable, safe, affordable land in Guatemala. But thanks to many generous donations we were able to buy land from a local woman who believed in our cause and sold it to us for much below market value.
This land will not only house about 1000 families, but to-date we've built three greenhouses there, giving residents food for their table and income for their well-being. We've built orchards on the land as well, providing even more food and income for families.
GOING BEYOND THE GREENS.
In addition to crops, we've been purchasing chickens. In fact, we're on our third batch of 800 broilers right now. Our future plans include other livestock which can provide additional food and income for residents.
But the need for donations isn't finished. Your generosity can help us buy much-needed machinery to help residents build and maintain the community.
